• A voluntary association of LCMS congregations that subscribe unconditionally to the Evangelical Lutheran Confessions.

• The goal of the ACELC is that the LCMS would be faithful in doctrine and practice according to the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.
• Our hope is to bring a united voice against the errors that have become ensconced within our synod. Our hope is to gather enough voices so that our concerns will be heard and cannot be overlooked.
• Ultimately, we long for the day when there is no need for this association.

• No.  While individuals, pastors, and congregations are certainly free to work towards the formation of a new church body, that is not a goal of the ACELC. Our goal is to assist the LCMS in faithfulness to our Lord and His Church.

• First, by identifying that which is contrary to Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions. The ACELC has identified Ten Errors that are found within the LCMS, and has made them known to the synod along with our letter of Fraternal Admonition.
• Second, we rebuke the errors and teach/confess the truth through our study materials, email blasts, annual conferences, etc. – so that we might encourage one another in faithfulness and to live in the unity that Christ gives to His Church through His Word.
• We encourage all the congregations of the LCMS to study the resources provided by the ACELC. These resources are wonderful Bible studies for congregations, boards, and circuit/district pastors’ conferences.

• Yes, the authority of the Word of God. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
• Some have said that the ACELC desires to be the ecclesiastical supervisor of the synod. This is not true. We encourage those who have been given these duties to be faithful in exercising the authority entrusted to them. This is vital for the unity of the LCMS.

• All congregations who are interested in joining this association are encouraged to study the Fraternal Admonition letter, the Evidence of Errors documents, and our Governance Guidelines.
• After studying these documents, all congregations interested in joining the ACELC are asked to contact us for further instructions on becoming members.

• Individuals who are members of LCMS congregations, or congregations in altar and pulpit fellowship with the LCMS, may join the ACELC as associate members.
• All associate members must read, and agree with the Fraternal Admonition letter, the Evidence of Errors documents, and our Governance Guidelines.  An application for Associate Membership can be found here.
